The camera optic is a Canon EF 100mm f/2 USM prime lens. Its nominal 100 mm
focal length, together with the 180 mm collimator, sets the
overall magnification. Focus and aperture are electromechanically controlled by
the Pinefeat lens controller.

This is a photographic lens rather than a purpose-designed spectrograph camera. Its best focus, usable aperture, chromatic residuals, field dependence, and line-spread function still need to be characterized in the assembled instrument. Stopping down can reduce aberrations but also reduces throughput.
